How to transport a pool table
June 8, 2018
Playing pool or snooker is a great way to relax. So it’s no wonder that many people go out and buy pool tables for their very own game rooms. However, these tables can be really heavy, sometimes weighing more than 200 pounds. As a result, it’s really hard to transport a pool table to a new location.
So what should you do when moving to a new location? You can’t leave your pool table behind. And you shouldn’t.
At Empire Movers, we transport pool table quite often. So we have a lot of experience with these awesome items. That’s why we’ve put together a list of tips to help you transport a pool table the right way.
Dismantle the pool table
The best and safest way to transport a pool table, no matter how heavy it is, is to take it apart. Dismantle it and you won’t need as much energy to relocate it. But remember to label the boxes and pieces. This will come in handy when you need to put the pool table back together.
Remember that pool tables are very heavy. Even if you take them apart, you might still be dealing with heavy pieces. So ask some friends to help you with the dismantling process.
When dealing with the slate, remember that it is the heaviest piece so be careful when moving it. Make sure it is protected and adequately wrapped, to avoid any damage. Don’t try to move it yourself. Ask for help.
Putting the pool table back together
Now that you’ve moved the pool table to its new location, you can put it back together. Don’t worry, it’s not that complicated. If you’ve already labeled the pieces, it will be a piece of cake. All you need to do is to follow the steps you took in order to dismantle the pool table, but in reverse.
Again, remember to be careful and make sure that you ask for help.
